everyone

can be God’s love in action

Habitat is an international Christian ministry that brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Anderson County Habitat was founded through a local church in 1986, and churches made up the majority of our support for many years. The faith community is so important to our mission! Your love of God and others and passion to serve is exactly what Habitat needs!

Through shelter, Habitat empowers low-income families and individuals to help themselves. Home ownership provides:

  • stability for families and children

  • a sense of dignity and pride

  • health, physical safety and security

  • increased education and job prospects

Working alongside volunteers, our Habitat homeowners put in hundreds of sweat-equity hours as they help build their own homes and complete financial education classes. Then, they purchase their home and pay an affordable, interest-free mortgage.

Regina, Habitat homeowner since 2016

My whole story is a lot obout God’s timing and faithfulness. I am reminded of all the beauty he has given me from the ashes.

get involved

As people of faith, we are called to respond to our neighbors’ needs, acting as God’s hands and feet in service to the world. When we come together to help people build better futures for themselves and their families, we put God’s love into action.

Habitat for Humanity offers concrete ways for people of all faiths to love and serve their neighbors.
