What

Fundraising

We are so happy you Signed up for this year’s Women Build! Your commitment to help raise money and build a Habitat home means so much to us, and to our future homeowner.

Each builder is required to raise $300 (or $1500 a team), which may seem daunting, but you have your team and this fundraising tool kit to help you along the way. We will go over methods you can use to fundraise and examples of marketing/social media posts to be most effective and keep with the Habitat brand.

How

Ideas

There are so many ways you can fundraise. One of the main things is to look at your abilities and let yourself shine through your fundraiser. Some possible examples may be:

  • Ask/Do something with your local church or workplace. Whether that be a donation match or a special event

  • Make or bake some crafts or treats to sell

  • Have a challenge where whoever raises the least amount of money has to do a challenge (Run a marathon, let the highest donor throw a pie at your face, get a crazy hairstyle, etc.)

  • Make a funny skit with your team (You could hold a grand release or link it to your fundraiser page)

  • Hold a car wash

  • Host a BBQ

  • Have a garage sale

  • hold a tournament (cornhole, golf, cook-off)

These are only a few and we encourage you to take them and make them your own. The possibilities are endless.

Media

Schedule

There are a few guidelines for social media posts. While this is not required we encourage you to do at least three posts. There are three examples of what your posts may look like at the bottom of the page. (There is no limit and your posts can also be videos)

  1. An announcement - post introducing your team and letting people know you are a part of the Women Build. You can also announce any possible events you may be hosting.

  2. A reminder - this can involve anything from talking about an event you are hosting or updating people on your raised total.

  3. A last chance - A post announcing the final few days before fundraising closes. Keep in mind fundraising closes on Sept. 11th so have all of your funds in before then.

Make sure you post your fundraising link on your post. The sooner in the text the better!
