The affordable housing shortage in Anderson County forces many low-income households to choose between poor living conditions they can afford or too expensive rentals that leave little left for necessities like food, health care and transportation. Families do not have a strong foundation to build the future and, in many cases, their health and prosperity are affected.
Formerly called the Executive Build, the Give Back Build brings together area businesses each year and offers them the opportunity to give back by building a new home for a deserving Anderson County household. You will be joining your colleagues from the local business community to frame a new future for a low-income family and enable them to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable home ownership.
Each participating company contributes financially toward the home’s construction costs and has an opportunity to provide volunteer service toward the home’s construction. Participating companies also will be invited to attend the home-dedication ceremony to celebrate the finished home being presented to its new owner. Sponsors also will be invited to a wall-raising event. The wall-raising and dedication ceremonies will be promoted in the local media, with thanks and recognition given to build sponsors whenever possible.

We participate in the Executive Build every year as a team building exercise. It’s fun and rewarding to get out of our normal routine. Our folks love it and find it rewarding to give back to the community.
Companies will receive recognition through signage on the build site throughout construction, a small thank you gift to display at your business, a mention on Habitat for Humanity of Anderson County’s website and a mention in Habitat’s newsletter, as well as photos on social media of your volunteers from the build days.
Every person who participates in a Give Back Build volunteer day will receive an event T-Shirt, which will include each company’s logo.
